Righty.

So what's the plan of attack on these..?

I suggest at some stage a "standard testing server" of some kind might
want to be created. In perl currently, given as that's the only server
implementation, but that detail should be irrelevant. It would stand as a
"black box" reference implementation, to test clients against and give
known results. This can then be used to test the perl or python clients
against, or any other clients that come in the future..
